Petr Jan Vinš

Petr Jan Vinš teaches history and Jewish literature at the Charles University in Prague. His areas of expertise include modern eastern Yiddish literature since 1800, German Jewish literature of the Central Europe in 19th and 20th century, American Jewish literature, both Yiddish and English, and Czech and Slovak modern and contemporary Jewish literature and literature about Holocaust/Shoah. Beside his academic work, Petr Jan Vinš is also an accomplished literary translator of both prose and poetry from Yiddish, German and English.
