Philathia Bolton

Philathia Bolton is an assistant professor of English at The University of Akron. She received a doctor of philosophy degree in American Studies from Purdue University and a bachelor's degree in English from Spelman College. While at Purdue, she helped with issues of diversity and presented her research in literature at regional and national conferences. Her research interests involve 20th century American literature, Black women writers, critical race studies, and the U.S. civil rights movement.
