Daniel Cook

Dr Daniel Cook joined the University of Dundee, Scotland in September 2012. For the academic year 2011-12 he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the USA, as well as a research fellow at Harvard. Between 2009 and 2011 he held a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellowship at the University of Bristol and, before that, an AHRC funded Research Fellowship on the "Cambridge Edition of the Works of Jonathan Swift" (18 vols). Daniel completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge with a thesis on the reception history of 'the marvellous boy' Thomas Chatterton. This forms the basis of his first monograph, "Thomas Chatterton and Neglected Genius, 1760-1830" (Palgrave, 2013). An expert on eighteenth-century and Romantic period literature and biography, Daniel has published articles on a range of topics, from Swift and Pope to Wordsworth and Byron, in the "Philological Quarterly", "The Review of English Studies", "The Library", and other leading journals and essay collections. http://www.dundee.ac.uk/humanities/staff/profile/daniel-cook
