Emma Bielecki
Emma Bielecki completed her undergraduate studies in English and French at Oxford, before moving to London to pursue graduate research at King's College London, where she wrote a PhD on Representations of the Collector in French Literature from Balzac to Proust. She worked as a lecturer in French studies at Oxford for three years before taking up her current post at King's. Her research focuses on the literature of the long nineteenth century, particularly its intersection with other expressive genres. She has published articles on Flaubert, Daudet, Champfleury, and the Fantômas books and films. Her monograph, The Collector in Nineteenth-Century French Literature: Representation, Identity, Knowledge was published in 2012. She is currently working on the crime serials of the Belle Epoque, literary and cinematic.
