Michael Nieto Garcia

Michael Nieto Garcia (Cornell, Ph.D. 2007) is an assistant professor of Literature at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. His research and teaching interests include Latino Literature, Ethnic Literature, Translation, Autobiography, and twentieth-century American Literature. Among the authors whose writing his scholarly work examines are Richard Wright, Vladimir Nabokov, Richard Rodriguez, and Helena María Viramontes. Garcia is the translator of Indonesian author Djenar Maesa Ayu’s award-winning collection of short stories, They Say I’m a Monkey, and the author of Autobiography in Black and White.
