Katharine Anne Murphy

Dr Katharine Murphy is a Senior Lecturer in Hispanic Studies (Department of Modern Languages) at the University of Exeter in the UK. Her research interests include Pío Baroja, Spanish and English Modernism, and Comparative Literature. She has published a book, Re-reading Pío Baroja and English Literature (Bern: Peter Lang, 2004), and several articles on these topics. After completing her doctoral thesis on Pío Baroja and English Literature in 1998, and working as a postdoctoral research fellow, in 2001 she was appointed lecturer at the University of Exeter. Katharine Murphy is currently working on female subjectivity in Baroja, Blasco Ibáñez and other early twentieth-century Spanish authors.
