Her undergraduate degree was earned at the University of Toronto and her doctorate at Princeton University. She co-edited Ben Jonson’s 1616 Folio (Delaware, 1991), a collection of essays focusing on the significance of Jonson’s publication in mid-life of his Workes and Literary Transmission and Authority: Dryden and Other Writers (Cambridge, 1993; paperback reissue, 2006), a study of authorial influence centering on Dryden’s reception of earlier writers, both classical and early modern, and his impact on later writers. Brady’s work has focused largely on literary influence across the seventeenth century and on literary careers, particularly those of Jonson and Dryden.
