Maria Galli Stampino
Maria Galli Stampino serves as Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures In the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami, Florida. Her research concerns early modern women writers as well as performances in the Renaissance. She is the author of Staging the Pastoral: Tasso's Aminta and the Emergence of Modern Western Theater (Tempe: Medieval and Renaissance Texts and Studies, 2005) and the editor and translator of Lucrezia Marinella's Enrico, or Byzantium Conquered: Heroic Poem (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2009 and Modena: Mucchi, 2011). She has published articles in journals such as Quaderni d'italianistica, Italica, Theatre Symposium and Romance Studies. Currently she is at work on commedia dell'arte in the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth centuries.
