Anna Ball

Dr Anna Ball is a Lecturer in English at Nottingham Trent University, UK. Her research focuses on the intersection of postcolonial and feminist theory, particularly in the context of contemporary Middle Eastern writing and film. She has published a number of articles on topics ranging from gender in Palestinian cinema to portrayals of sexual violence in novels by Arab women writers, and her monograph, 'Gender Politics and the Postcolonial in Palestinian Literature and Film' will be published by Routledge in 2012. Anna completed her PhD at the University of Manchester in 2008 and has worked at Nottingham Trent University since 2007.
