William Smialek

William Smialek is an academic administrator and Professor of Music at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. He has served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and prior to this, he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at Midway College in Kentucky. He completed the Ph.D. in musicology at the University of North Texas and was a Fulbright Scholar in Poland. His published books include The Symphony in Poland, Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński and Musical Life in Nineteenth-Century Poland, Polish Music: A Research and Information Guide, and Frédéric Chopin, Composer Resource Manual. Dr. Smialek’s scholarly work also includes a number of papers and reviews on music and culture in Eastern Europe.
