Vivian Valvano Lynch

Vivian Valvano Lynch, Professor of English at St. John's University, Queens, New York, received her Ph. D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her dissertation on William Kennedy was awarded the university's Hechler Dissertation Award. Her research specialties are James Joyce, contemporary Irish fiction and drama, and contemporary Irish-American fiction. She is the author of Portraits of Artists: Warriors in the Novels of William Kennedy, as well as numerous scholarly essays. She has presented critical papers at conferences in the United States and abroad, and she regularly reviews publications in her fields, notably for The Irish Literary Supplement, of which she is a Co-Editor, and The James Joyce Literary Supplement.
