Samantha Michele Riley
Samantha Michele Riley earned her B.A. at the University of Iowa in the Department of Cinema and Comparative Literature. She also studied at the University of Freiburg, Germany. She earned her MA in Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. In her Master’s thesis she explored the role of citationality in queer rock musicals. She is a Ph.D. candidate at UNC, specializing in global cinema, queer theory, and disability studies. She teaches courses in German, English composition, Media and Film studies, and Women’s studies. She is also part of an editorial team for two German language textbooks, Auf geht’s! and Weiter geht's! Samantha has published an article on “The Transnational Queer AIDS Cinema.” She also has an article forthcoming on monstrosity in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in the context of Patrick Süskind’s Das Parfum.
