William John Dominik
William J. Dominik, who holds a PhD from Monash University, is currently Emeritus Professor of Classics at the University of Otago, New Zealand and Full Invited Professor and Integrated Researcher at the University of Lisbon, Portugal (see https://www.otago.academia.edu/WilliamJDominik). He has lectured widely in Classics and the Humanities at a number of universities, including the University of Otago (NZ) and the University of Natal (South Africa), where he served as Professor and Chair of Classics. Dominik has also taught at Texas Tech University (USA), Monash University (Australia), University of Leeds (England), University of Cambridge (England), University of Edinburgh (Scotland) and the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil). He has also held Visiting Research Fellowships at the University of Cambridge, University of Edinburgh and University of Oxford (England). Dominik has delivered 144 papers and received 203 grants and awards (counting renewals and sponsored visits but excluding pending and declined) internationally, including Commonwealth Fellowships in the United Kingdom and Australia. He was also the Founding Editor and Manager of the twenty-year (1992-2011) international Classical series Scholia (South Africa / New Zealand) and has served as Editor/Co-editor of Latin Literature or Senior Advisory Editor for The Literary Encyclpedia since 2005.
Dominik is the author or editor of 345 publications (including revised editions, reprints and contracted publications) in 19 countries, including 25 books, on Roman literature and other topics.
