Kel Morin-Parsons

Kel Morin-Parsons holds a PhD in Renaissance English literature and has taught in the disciplines of English and Theatre. She is the editor of "A Meditation of a Penitent Sinner": Anne Locke's Sonnet Sequence (North Waterloo Academic Press), and contributed a chapter on Locke to Other Voices, Other Views: Expanding the Canon in English Renaissance Studies (University of Delaware Press). She is currently working on a book on the poetry of Locke, Mary Sidney Herbert, and Aemilia Lanyer. While Renaissance English literature is her first love and area of specialisation, theatre studies, and Irish theatre in particular, run a very close second.

Now working with a Canadian scholarly non-profit association, Kel spends a good deal of time acting and writing; among her recent stage roles was that of Molly Sweeney in the Brian Friel play of the same name. She has authored programme notes and delivered lectures for the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, has written freelance articles for various publications, and is currently finishing scripts for a one-woman play and a short film; the latter will be shot in the autumn of 2008. Kel is Vice-President of Arc Poetry Magazine.
