Tim Unwin

Tim Unwin is Ashley Watkins Professor of French at the University of Bristol and Director of the Bristol Institute for Research in The Humanities and Arts (BIRTHA). He was formerly James Barrow Professor of French at the University of Liverpool, prior to which he lectured at The University of Western Australia. Major publications include Art et infini: l'oeuvre de jeunesse de Gustave Flaubert (Rodopi, 1991), Jules Verne: Journeys in Writing (Liverpool UP, 2005), and (as volume editor) The Cambridge Companion to the French Novel (CUP, 1997) and The Cambridge Companion to Flaubert (CUP, 2004). He is the founder and co-manager of Francofil, the world’s largest e-mail forum in French studies, and he serves on the editorial boards of Australian Journal of French Studies, Essays in French Literature

and French Studies.
