James Patrick Carney

Dr James Carney has taught in the University of Limerick and currently works in the School of English, University College Cork, Ireland. His areas of research interest include cognitive science and literature, semiotics, narratology and literary theory. He has published in a wide range of scholarly journals, including Semiotica, The Journal of Literary Semantics, The Journal of Indo-European Studies, Biosemiotics and L'Epoque Conradienne.

Dr Carney's current teaching focuses on a number of areas, most notably Romanticism, Irish Studies, Film and Science Fiction.
