Elzbieta Foeller-Pituch

Elżbieta Foeller-Pituch (Assistant Director, Chabraja Center for Historical Studies, Northwestern University) is a literary historian whose current research interests focus on the classical tradition in American culture. Her most recent publications include chapters and articles on the Polish science fiction author Stanislaw Lem; the role of Rome in the early fiction of Henry James; the goddess Athena as a cultural icon in the U.S.; and metamorphosis in James Branch Cabell's Jurgen. She is working on a book-length study of the enduring influence of Greek and Roman myths in American fiction and culture.
