Peggy Lynn Kelly

Dr. Peggy Lynn Kelly has a PhD in Canadian Literature from the University of Alberta. Dr. Kelly was awarded two post-doctoral fellowships, and she has shared the results of her research on Dorothy Livesay, Madge Macbeth, the canon of Canadian literature, popular culture, cultural nationalism, writers' groups in Canada, women's writing, and modernism in many conference papers. Dr. Kelly taught literature and communication at the University of Alberta, the University of Ottawa, and Algonquin College. She has published in Atlantis, Open Letter, Canadian Poetry, Studies in Canadian Literature, History of the Book in Canada, Framing Our Past: Canadian Women's History in the Twentieth Century, Limited Edition: Voices of Feminism, Voices of Women, and "Wider Boundaries of Daring": The Modernist Impulse in Canadian Women's Poetry. She is editor of the second edition of Shackles by Madge Macbeth and was Co-General Editor for Tecumseh Press's Early Canadian Women Writers Series. Dr. Kelly also contributed to the Canadian Writing Research Collaboratory (CWRC), and she has co-authored a literary history of Canadian women's writing with Dr. Carole Gerson: Hearing More Voices: English-Canadian Women in Print and on the Air, 1914-1960.
