John Holmes

Dr John Holmes is Professor of Victorian Literature and Culture at the University of Birmingham. He was educated at Lincoln College, Oxford, and Queen Mary and Westfield College, London, and holds a D. Phil. from Oxford on Victorian poetry. He is the author of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and the Late Victorian Sonnet Sequence: Sexuality, Belief and the Self (Aldershot: Ashgate, 2005), Darwin's Bards: British and American Poetry in the Age of Evolution (Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Press, 2009) and a range of articles on Victorian and Renaissance literature.
