Anna Radius Zuccari, known by her pseudonym Neera, was one of the most prolific and successful writers of late nineteenth-century Italy. Her presence in the history of Italian literature is connected to a vast narrative production that goes from Un romanzo [A Novel] (1876) to Una giovinezza del secolo XIX [A Nineteenth Century Childhood], published posthumously in 1919. Neera was the author of twenty-two novels, eight collections of short stories, ten theoretical volumes and two poetry collections.
