At the time of the publication, in 1975, of his long, seven-part free verse poem, Dans le leurre du seuil, Yves Bonnefoy had already offered us Surrealist texts such as the Traité du pianiste (1946) and Anti-Platon (1947), the considerable poems of Du mouvement et de l’immobilité de Douve (1953), the dense, even deeply enigmatic pages of Hier régnant désert (1958), and the emerging self-clarifications of Pierre écrite (1965).
