Judith Thompson is one of English Canada’s most celebrated playwrights. Her plays have had many productions both in Canada and abroad, and have won numerous awards. She was born in Montreal in 1954, and graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, in 1976. From there she returned to Montreal where she studied acting at the National Theatre School, graduating in 1979. Settled in Toronto, she formed a close working relationship with Tarragon Theatre, where many of her plays have premiered. Since 1992 she has also taught at the University of Guelph.
