Brian Chikwava is a Zimbabwean writer, journalist, and musician currently living and working in London, UK. Born in 1972 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, as the eldest of eight children, Chikwava had the benefit of a good education. His late father, a police officer, and his mother, a nurse, asked their son to set an example for his siblings by studying hard. They wanted Chikwava to become a doctor, but did not stop him from pursuing his interest in the arts. Very soon he became a regular at Harare’s Book Café and started experimenting with writing and music. In 1996, Chikwava graduated from the National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo, before moving to Bristol, in the UK, to study Civil Engineering. Since …
