Rabih Alameddine is a Lebanese-American author born to Lebanese parents in 1959 in Amman, Jordan. Alameddine spent most of his childhood in Kuwait and Lebanon. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) before pursuing a Master in Business. Alameddine had little interest in his early career as an engineer, soon abandoning it to painting and writing. He currently lives between Beirut and San Francisco. He is the author of five novels and an out-of-print collection of short stories, all written in English.
