Pierre Alferi is one of France’s most innovative and versatile contemporary writers. His writing career began in 1989, with the publication of his doctoral thesis on English scholastic philosopher William of Ockham. Since then, Alferi has published fourteen volumes of poetry, five novels, philosophical and literary essays, translations of books by John Donne, Meyer Schapiro, Giorgio Agamben, of the Books of Job and Isaiah, and of contemporary English and American poets. He has also made several short films, as well as co-founded and co-edited two literary journals, including, with Olivier Cadiot, the influential Revue de Littérature Générale.
