Douglas Coupland is a Canadian writer, visual artist, and designer. He has published fifteen books of fiction and nine books of non-fiction, as well as having written works for television, film, and stage. Outside of his writing, he has also produced a significant body of design and visual art, including several major public commissions. While his work has appeared in translation in twenty-two languages and thirty countries, it has received only moderate (though growing) attention from Canadian academics, and only a few nominations for literary prizes in Canada or elsewhere.
