Ann-Marie MacDonald is one of Canada's most high-profile personalities, an award-winning actor, playwright, and novelist. “I have never wanted to be only an actor or only a writer,” she has said. “The two have always been dual aspirations”.
A self-described “Air Force brat”, MacDonald was born in 1959 on a German Air Force base, the child of a Scottish father, who served as an Air Force accountant, and a Lebanese mother.
