Porpora Marcasciano is an Italian activist and writer known for her participation in the sexual liberation movement of the 1970s in Italy and for her role as co-founder and current president of Movimento identità trans (MIT) [Trans Identity Movement].* Marcasciano has written extensively on sexual liberation and trans identity and history, and is best known for the works Tra le rose e le viole – La storia e le storie di transessuali e travestiti [Between Roses and Violets: The Histories and Stories of Transsexuals and Transvestites] (2002), AntoloGaia [AntoloGay] (2007/2014), the co-edited volume Elementi di critica trans [Elements of Trans Critique] (…
